Gensо̄kyо̄ Mid-Autumn: The Mooncake☆ Theft Incident (幻想乡中秋 月饼☆大盗事件), or Mooncake☆ (月饼☆),1) is a Chinese-language Cookie☆ voice drama by “Shìguān Cháng Zhōngjié” (士官長終結) that was published to Bilibili on October 22, 2017,2) then translated.3)4)

Summary

The story begins with the residents of Eientei preparing to hold their recurring 'Lunar Capital Expo' during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Marisa accuses Reisen of stealing mooncakes for the Expo, solely based on a sketchy photograph, but Eirin intervenes and disproves her theory. Reisen and Marisa interrogate Tewi, selling mooncakes in the Human Village, but Tewi had a receipt indicating that Kaguya bought them.

Following this lead, the three visit Kaguya, a NEET holding a zero-viewer broadcast, then Marisa reveals her motive as she wanted to gift the mooncakes to Alice. The story then skips to the Expo, where the two male attendees recap the gossip, suggesting that Ringo had paid Tewi to stash the stolen mooncakes at the Moriya Shrine. At the end, Tewi and Reisen reconcile and kiss, then Alice kisses Marisa.

Notes

  • The early short names were 'Chuuka☆' (中華☆, lit. “Chinese Food☆”) and 'Mocchi' (モッチー☆).
  • Marisa speaks with a Guizhou dialect, and Kaguya speaks with a Cantonese dialect.
  • For the record, Reisen does have a 'Mind Shaker' spellcard, but most translations usually render it as 'Red-Eyed Hypnosis' (赤眼催眠) despite 'Mind Shaker' (マインドシェイカー) as the ruby.
  • Both the Japanese and English translations are 'sloppy' or 'loose' (ガバガバ) from what I can tell.

The short name would be 'Yuèbǐng☆' (月饼☆) in Chinese and 'Geppei☆' (月餅☆) in Japanese, which is rendered in katakana as 'Geppei☆' (ゲッペー☆) as a result.
