Dokuo

Dokuo(Poison Man) (ドクオ),¹⁾ or Dokuwo (ドクヲ), is an AA character that came from 2channel's /male/ board around December 27, 2002.²⁾ He represents the average single male and his mental struggles largely resonated with most of its userbase at the time, namely single men, NEETs, and virgins.

Summary

He is an apathetic, passive, and pessimistic person, yet worries about being a single virgin who could live life without ever having a partner. His despair is amplified as he gets to hear the implied sounds of sex from the next room over, the 'gishigishi' (ｷﾞｼｷﾞｼ) of a squeaking bed and the 'anan' (ｱﾝｱﾝ) moans. In the end, Dokuo will attempt to commit suicide by hanging himself, except he won't actually die for some reason.

He's often depicted as a high school student, university student, or a student with otaku hobbies.
An artist named “Chikipoko” drew a short yonkoma series on Niconico with a female-bodied gijinka of Dokuo, later nicknamed 'Dokuko' (ドクコ) or 'Dokuko-chan' (ドクコちゃん).³⁾
