Among Us
Among Us is a cross-platform, social deduction game that was developed by Innersloth and released in 2018, initially as a mobile app. It didn't see widespread popularity until September 2020 when it became a fad through Twitch streamers and proceeded to flood social media channels.
Summary
It's a simple version of Mafia/Werewolf that can be played with 4 to 15 people. The players are randomly assigned a “crewmate” or “impostor” role. The crewmates must eject all impostor(s) or finish all their tasks, while the impostor(s) win by strategically killing off everyone until the crewmates lose the majority or manage to corner the crew into failing a critical sabotage.

There are currently four maps in Among Us to choose and play on. Below is a small chart that contains some basic information about them, and a few remarks after playing on them or watching others play on them.

Notes
- Do note that Among Us is a player elimination game, so be mindful when you invite friends over and they immediately get eliminated, so they just sit out while everyone else is having fun.
- The game was sleeper hit. It was vaguely popular in Brazil and South Korea before it would explode in the Anglosphere by late 2020,1)2) then spread to the Philippines3) and Japan from there.
- My friend group held eight weekly Among Us sessions during the hype at 1am EST on Sundays.4)
