くぁwせdrftgyふじこlp

くぁ(qa)(se)drftgyふじこ(hujiko)lp”, also rendered as “(a)(se)drftgyふじこ(hujiko)lp”, is just nonsense Japanese internet slang for screaming or being speechless, similar to keymashing. It came from 2channel's /news/ in 20031) and caught on. The string may be shortened to “hujiko” (ふじこ, fujiko).

Summary

This string can be summoned by alternating left-to-right between a QWERTY keyboard's 3rd and 4th rows, which normally results in “qawsedrftgyhujikolp”, but turns into “くぁwせdrftgyふじこlp” because of the Japanese keyboard's input method editor. However, this output isn't universal. For instance, if one used ATOK over the Microsoft IME, you'd end up with “qあwせdrftgyふじこlp” instead.

Notable examples

  • In the 2010 anime, Oreimo, one of the BGM is titled this.
  • In the 2015 anime, One Punch Man, Lighting Max shouts this in Episode 8.
  • In the 2018 anime, Yuru Camp, Rin texts this to Ena in Episode 2.
