Touhou Kishouban

A rewrite is pending. It looks like the board was left unmoderated and might've moved elsewhere.

Touhou Kishouban (東方寄書板) is one of the Touhou Project boards on Shitaraba that was established around February 2015. It's considered to be a successor to the Touhou Series Board and Touhou Gensouban, so its full history actually extends far back as June 2003.

It's best known for being the birthplace of the stage boss gatherings which partially spawned from the tournament that the board was first made for. There's a limit on the total number of threads that a board can hold in their archive, so they delete old Chiruno no Ura threads and move boards.

History

Touhou Series Board

The Touhou Series Board (東方シリーズ板, Tōhō Shirīzu-ban) had launched in 2003,1) initially serving as a home for the Touhou Saimoe Tournament (東方最萌トーナメント). Yuyuko won the first in 2004, while Meiling won the second in 2005 and these characters received the honor of having the board named after them for a short amount of time. For some reason, a third was never held, possibly due to the THWiki Popularity Poll.

On May 18, 2008, the manager of the “Touhou Series Board” and the “Touhou Project Board”2) had decided to quit since the boards appeared to be a mental burden on the manager. Apparently, a new manager was chosen over IRC and the Touhou Gensouban board would emerge on May 19, 2008.3) While thread creation was disabled, the previous boards were abandoned by 2010 while the spam had accumulated.

Touhou Gensouban

Touhou Gensouban (東方幻想板, lit. “Touhou Illusion Board”) had launched on May 19, 2008,4) succeeding the previous Touhou Series Board. In late February 2012, unrelated to the 9th THWiki Popularity Poll,5) a site-wide vulnerability led to thread creation being restricted to the management for a few months. Then after seven years, the moving process began and the board froze on February 28, 2015.

Touhou Kishouban

Touhou Kishouban (東方寄書板, lit. “Touhou Contribution Board”) launched on February 5, 2015,6) where it became the successor to Touhou Gensouban. Since the board is fairly new, there's not much history to it.

List of Threads

This is a messy list and some threads may be missing. To keep this list updated, the last “Cirno no Ura” thread to hit post limit was 4733crn.
❗ indicates threads that need to be updated once the board gets fixed.

Official Work Threads

Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, and every work released after Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, has a thread. Most of these threads are typically relaxed, unless they're one of the newer works or in serialization.

Individual Character Threads

Most characters have their own thread, but some characters share threads (e.g. Scarlet Sisters, the Fairies of Light, Secret Sealing Club, etc.). Please note that each thread's atmosphere varies from one another.

Miscellaneous Threads

Cirno no Ura

Cirno no Ura (チルノの裏, Chiruno no Ura),8) also known as ChiruUra (チル裏), is a no-genre chat thread for people who don't want to disrupt the flow of other threads. These threads are fast-paced, so they often reach post limit and threads will often get deleted from the board to save storage space.9) Additionally, they have a wiki, a backup board, and a toy box (uploader).

For some reason, the archives were wiped around March 20, 2008. According to an off-site archive, a test thread was made on May 15, 2003 but the first real thread was made on July 29, 2003.
2)
The original “Touhou Project Board” (東方Project板) on Shitaraba, not to be confused with 2ch /touhou/, was a short-lived board that was originally made on April 11, 2008 to discuss if the board should stay at its original board or move. It stopped being used around 2010 and was deleted in 2015.

“Cirno no Ura” (チルノの裏) is a play on “Chirashi no Ura” (チラシの裏, lit. “Back of a Leaflet”), which is a Japanese term for subjects or junk that are irrelevant, off-topic, belongs in a diary, vaguely related, etc.
9)
Of course, the “Cirno no Ura” threads are archived elsewhere, but as .dat files.
