Nurupo
Nurupo (ぬるぽ), or Nullpo, is a Japanese abbreviation for the Java error message, NullPointerException (NPE), from the early 2000s. However, it's rarely used in its original context nowadays, best associated with the AA call-and-response game between Mona and Morala.
Summary
The abbreviation may have emerged within IRC chatrooms where it became an in-joke among programmers coding online Java games, which were really fashionable at the time. At some point, it made its way onto 2channel's /prog/ board on June 20, 2002.1) This thread features Mona saying “Nurupo” (ぬるぽ) and, within two minutes, Morala hits him with a hammer which forces Mona to exclaim “Gah!” (ガッ).
