Morala

Morala (モララー, Morarā), also known as Moralar or Moraler, is an AA character made on April 10, 2000.¹⁾ He is a Mona variant, his name is a portmanteau of “Mona” with “moral” (モラル, moraru), and he was originally debut as the consciousness of 2channel.²⁾

He has a fixed expression that some find amusing, though others find this creepy and depict him as a killer as a result. His catchphrase is “Matāri shiyou yo!” (マターリしようよ!, lit. “Let's Mataari!”).³⁾ In other artwork, he shares Nurupo with Mona and may appear with the Saitama trio.

Marala (マララー, Mararā) emerged around June 2000 as a mushroom, but people thought he was too phallic. His name incorporates “mara”⁴⁾ and he says “mokōri shiyou yo!” (モコーリしようよ！).⁵⁾

Jisaku Jien

Jisaku Jien (ジサクジエン, lit. “One Man Play”) is composed of Morala's head and was made on November 1, 2000 to mock a sockpuppet on the /mona/ board a month ago.⁶⁾ Since he fits on one line, he doesn't take up much space. In AA-themed games, Jien may be used as a common enemy.

“Matāri” (マターリ) was the 2channeler way of saying “mattari” (まったり, lit. “relax”) since replacing the sokuon with a chōonpu was their way of pretending that their environment was relaxed or “chill”. Another example of this is “sekkusu” (セックス, lit. “sex”) which would become “sekūsu” (セクース) instead.
