Soyjak Party

Soyjak Party, nicknamed The Sharty,1) is an edgy, absurdist, and Soyjak-themed bulletin board, founded by “Soot” on September 20, 20202) and it has gone through several owners. At the time of this writing, Soyjak Party is currently owned by “Froot” and has moved to the “soyjak.st” domain.

History

On September 20, 2020, “Soot” establishes a website at “soyjak.party”, which used Vichan, and proceeds to advertise it on 4chan's “Question & Answer” (/qa/) board.3) In the following week, “Chud” had become the default name. Over the next two years, 4chan closes the /qa/ board in November 2021, while the Soyjak Party would somehow thrive with its own 'culture', a wiki, and gathered a reputation of conducting raids.

Following a 'warring' period,4)5) “Kuz” purchased Soyjak Party on July 14, 2022,6) then a rogue 4chan janitor dumped off a 4chan leak on August 19, 2022.7)8)9) As people start picking up on 'Sharty culture',10)11)12)13) interim administrator “Doll”14) ends up purchasing the website on July 23, 2023.15) Some chaos ensues,16) and then it came back with a “Doll”–“Angeleno”–“Froot” triumvirate on August 22, 2023.

This triumvirate did not last long, which left “Froot” as the de-facto owner by October 9, 2023,17) but “Doll” did briefly resurface.18)19)20) On September 26, 2024, the wiki's “soyjak.st” domain started being used as the Soyjak Party mirror, then they started bouncing between “soyjak.party” and “soyjak.st” in the following months before settling on “soyjak.st”. Then on April 14, 2025, the website is credited for a major 4chan hack.

Notes

  • The original Soyjak Party mascot was 'Soy-tan', an anthropomorphic Soylent bottle. She was later removed from the branding for a dead 'Dr. Soyberg' and the 'Impish Soyak Ears' variant.
  • During the weekends, there would be a 'Jackbox' (Jakbox) thread on /soy/ which targeted small Twitch streamers playing The Jackbox Party Pack or holding a public Discord voice call, coordinating a way to 'chud it up' (CIU), post disturbing images, and mass report the server/stream to get it banned.
    • The Jackbox Games developers and VTubers on Twitter later became aware of it by late 2022.21)
    • It should be noted that these threads will occasionally attract extortion groups that are trying to fit in (e.g. 764, O9A, 'Foodists'), which the community severely frowns down upon.
  • The Internet Archive would decide to exclude the 'soyjak.party' domain around February 2024.
  • On January 24, 2025, the website would be linked to the Antioch High School shooting, but there is the belief that it may have been a false flag due to the shooter's ties to a known extortion group.
  • Personally, “Bald Cartoon Man With Glasses Website” and their variants are funnier nicknames though.
  • Media Pending Approval.
  • Soyjak PartySoyjak.St - The front page of Soyjak Party.
    • Soyjak Wiki - A wiki on Soyjak variants, the Sharty's history, and shit nobody cares about.
    • The Cellar - The current archive for Soyjak Party, likely on an intentional delay.
    • Soybooru - Large collection of Soyjak-related images. Tends to go offline for some reason.
  • Marge - Statistics page for Soyjak Party, where people obsess over the PPH.
  • '- - A leading apostrophe, technically a contraction, that gets haphazardly used.
  • bumo - A typo of bump, sometimes used to bring attention to a thread.
  • catalog (catty, 'log) - An imageboard directory, often used as a victory trophy in raids.
  • carbon - A mediocre thing, neither good nor bad.
  • coaldustbrimstonevantablackantimatter - A 'bad' thing.
  • gem (💎, gemmy) - A 'good' thing.
    • geg - A gem-infused laugh, meant to differentiate from the widespread “kek” laugh.
  • IAS, NAS - Short for “Is a Soyjak” and “Not a Soyjak” respectively.
  • jakker, soyteen ('teen) - A demonym for the type of user who visits these communities.
  • keyed, locked - A substitute for “based” and “cringe” respectively, given their widespread use.
  • marge - A confusing thing, derived from a Leebait reaction image with The Simpsons.
  • newGOD, oldtroon - An inversion of 4chan's anti-newcomer, secret club mentality.
  • 'P - Short for “CP” (child pornography), despite this being the same length as the acronym.
  • though (doe) - An allegedly unnecessary word that tends to get scrutinized.
  • xer - A neopronoun. However, on the Sharty, it's a derogatory term which typically used to suggest that the target is transgender, regardless of their actual gender status.

The official nickname is “The Party”, but most users call it “The Sharty”, a portmanteau of “shit”, “fart”, and “party”. It is sometimes rendered with a leading apostrophe, such as “'party” or “'arty”.

During the month of August 2023, Soyjak Party temporarily lost its domain, forcing the website to take refuge at “soychan.org” and “soyjaks.party”, then suffered a DDoS attack and financial problems. This caused many people to believe that Soyjak Party had died, resulting in a number of splinters, but the issues were later resolved and it eventually resumed operations under its original domain.
