Sasuga Brothers

The Sasuga Brothers (流石兄弟, Sasuga Kyōdai) are two AA characters who were made on September 7, 2002.1) The Fuun-derived characters utilize a computer where they usually act like a Japanese comedy duo, and they also have a very extensive family.

The name comes from their usual punchline, “Sasuga da yo na Onera” (流石だよな俺ら, lit. “As expected of us”), and they're commonly seen with a Fujitsu “FMV” laptop. Most people recognize the brothers from their use in Japan's Golden Age of Flash.

The character on the left is Anija, while the character on the right is Otoja. While they may look similar at first glance, their noses and left eye are different. The extended family is mentioned later in the article.

Anija

Anija (兄者, lit. “Older Brother”) is the boke who collects erotic images, but he often runs into browser crushers2) and never learns. He usually says “OK, OK” and is often colored green.

Otoja

Otoja (弟者, lit. “Younger Brother”) is the tsukkomi who is more rational than Anija. While he usually takes jabs at Anija, he does looks up to him at times. He's often colored blue.

The above artwork shows the Sasuga family tree. Most of the family's names are a portmanteau their position in the tree with “ja” (者, lit. “person”). However, you'll only ever see Hahaja, Aneja, and Imoja.

  • Third Generation
    • Aneja (姉者, lit. “Older Sister”) lives alone, but comes home once in a while. She'll usually ask Imoja about things she doesn't understand. She also ends up finding their brother's porn.
