Dollchan (Доллчан), or Kuklochan (Куклочан), is a Ukrainian¹⁾ bulletin board set up by “SthephanShi”²⁾ and formally opened on May 7, 2018.³⁾ The name is better known for an imageboard extension which presumably began development around March 5, 2010.⁴⁾

In the past, threads about the Dollchan extension were housed on the original Dvach,⁵⁾ then moved to IIchan from 2011 to 2016.⁶⁾ Around May 7, 2018, “SthephanShi” formally set up an imageboard at the “dscript.me” domain using a TinyIB fork,⁷⁾ though there is evidence that he had been testing the website since January 29, 2017.⁸⁾ Eventually, the website migrated to the “dollchan.net” domain by April 8, 2020.

With the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, considering that “SthephanShi” works for the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, he gave a ton of interesting updates from Slavutich as he was lucky enough to not be on shift.⁹⁾ He would later establish a “Ukraine” (/ukr/) board on July 1, 2022,¹⁰⁾ but the front page stayed the same as it was still a niche community.

Around May 19, 2023, Sosach removed certain /ukr/ moderators for “publicly endorsing terrorism” which had caused a mass migration of Ukrainians to take refuge at Dollchan, partially because their alternatives were Kropyvach and Nichan which weren't really viable.¹¹⁾ The front page was eventually updated to list Dollchan's other boards by late June 2023, moving the website's past homepage to /extension/.

• At one point, the Dollchan extension was called the “Dollscript” or “Kukloscript” (Куклоскрипт).
• Dollchan is a Ukrainian website, but does allow discussions in the Russian language,¹²⁾ which makes sense with the developer's background¹³⁾ and the extension's history with Russian imageboards.
• “SthephanShi” was a Russian that was born and raised in the Ukraine, specifically Shakhtyorsk in Donetsk Oblast before the 2014 unrest, but he does have a Ukrainian passport.¹⁴⁾ He hasn't served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but currently maintains immunity from mobilization since he is employed for the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant which remains critical infrastructure.¹⁵⁾
